The Taiwan Chip Story Was Always Nonsense

We don’t hear much about Taiwan semiconductors anymore. This often happens in national security circles. The point is to make you scared, not to make any meaningful changes to the strategic vulnerability that is claimed to have been identified. Solving this problem would be counter-productive. It’s declining importance means I’ll probably never do a produced video talking about Taiwan chips, so I thought it made sense to throw together an unproduced version. I hope you find it useful.

Trump Is Brining Turkey’s Politics To The US…

The return of produced videos! This video on the parallels between Trumpian and Turkish government is a bit of an experiment. It’s got a bit of half-formed ranting, but it’s also got some carefully put together and animated critique of media consolidation. I think it works. Do you? I’ve been enjoying stumbling towards new formats for my video production, and I think this is a sort of a step forward. There’s so much enough happening that I need to find new ways to speed up production while maintaining quality. Let me know what you think.

Is Trump Bringing Us Back To the 1930s?

This one was interesting. I had an idea for a couple historical comparison videos in light of Trump’s second term and the assassination of Charlie Kirk. My typical practice is to then spend months or weeks developing them before publishing a finished product. But I have too many of those projects already. So I figured I should just push this one and next week’s videos out in unproduced form without too much introspection or overthinking. It’s not as produced as I might like, but the ideas are out there. What do you think?

Syria Shows What Israel Is Now…

The United States is on the verge of making a catastrophically bad decision on Israel and Iran. The question currently posed is inadequate. People are warring over whether we should go whole hog and help Israel destroy Iran entirely, or if we should merely continue to pay billions to defend Israel from the consequences of its actions. This is a very limited conversation. With this un-produced video, I attempt to expand the conversation a bit more, by looking at what Israel is doing in Syria. A lot more is at stake than the exchange of missiles between a couple of really unattractive governments.

I can’t believe we’re here again. Most believe the United States is within hours of launching our own attack on Iran, if we haven’t already. It’s a catastrophic return to the evils of the Bush administration. It’s pretty clear we’ve learned nothing. Today’s video is an attempt to help people learn something. The United States Is A Socialist Country | DOGE, Marx, Musk & Medicare

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results. After 45 solid years of Reaganite bipartisan rampaging in the direction of deregulation and “market-based solutions”, the Trump presidency can only be seen as a sort of psychopathy. To every action there is a reaction, and I believe the United States has been moving one direction for 45 years, first steadily, then psychotically. We’ve got 45 more months of Trump, but I think it’s already time to start thinking about what comes after. Not just after Trump, but after his complete discrediting of the past 45 years of political orthodoxy in the United States. I hope you enjoy my first effort at that.

Iran Again?!? Seriously?

I’m very worried about war with Iran. But even I am getting sick of hearing myself say it. If you ask me today, I tend to think that the Trump administration is too busy with other stuff to manage an attack on Iran. But all it takes is a single stray missile landing in one of the US’s way-too-many bases across the Middle East. The worst thing can always happen. One selfish old man, Joe Biden, inflicted a completely unnecessary second Trump term on us. Nothing that strange has to occur to drop us into our next trillion dollar war. Join us as we talk through what that might look like, and how horrifically absurd it is that it’s a real prospect.

Wow, I guess I’ve been doing this a little while. Ten years ago this month, this channel had an early success with a video entitled “3 Reasons China Will Never Rule The World”. A lot has happened over the past ten years. In a discord chat earlier this month, MFF’s social media manager Loga suggested I update that decade old video. Trump Won’t Make Peace With Russia

Trump won’t make peace with Russia. Simply put, he can’t. Too many of his donors, and too many of his campaign promises are riding on his amping up US oil and gas production. He can’t keep that production up if he crashes prices, and that’s what would be necessary to get peace with Russia. I got annoyed enough at these simple facts being left out of all the coverage over the past week that I went ahead and made an unproduced video on the topic.
